Beer you don't want to drink

OK, so I spent my saturday doing this.

I may add some sort of spray effect to it to make it a bit more interesting (I did try emulating some foam with jigglebones but it kinda looked like someone had stapled their nutsack to the side of the can), and it definitely needs a new skin. If anyone wants to submit their own texture with their own particular brand of beverage I'll gladly post a template Works with most HL2 variants as it's just a frag replacement, but I think it makes an interesting change, particularly to Synergy

Next week: hopper mines that look like cupcakes and a rocket launcher that fires turtles...

Post any you do here and if I get a few I'll post some screenshots and maybe we can have a poll and see which one is favourite. Unfortunately as it's a clientside mod I don't think putting it on the server will push it to any joining clients - so when it's done I'll post the files here and anyone who wants it can install it themselves. For now I really want to get some foam/spray working, if only I can figure out how to replace the red fuse....

EDIT: I've uploaded this to show an alternate skin and my attempt at some jigglebones... foam. I'm now playing with the particle system, because it's evident that this foam sucks.

I've more or less given up on the foam thing, at one point it was like walking around in a shower.. so I'm just going to wait and see if anyone else has a skin, then post the files. I've found during all the testing that it's far too easy to forget it's a grenade and walk over to one thinking 'Ooh beerc.. BANG!'. This should be fun on a server

 

None of the videos that you upload work for me, they are just sound, I have all of the necessary codecs...

 

They are encoded in XViD and have a DIVX FourCC so should play with the DivX codec. If all else fails open them in VLC player as it doesn't use VFW/WDM

 

I got the divx codec AND i tried it in VLC but neither worked...

I've also tweaked the rim around the top so it looks a bit more metal, which improves all the skins

 

I wanted to list the ingredients too, but since every single motherfucking photoshop program in the world sucks balls, the text won't show up even though I selected WHITE, not ugly motha green. And no, I do not give permission to do it yourself. Cause that pisses me off even more.

 

I've never tasted Hertog Jan, but I do know I'm rather partial to Heineken....
