For someone as anti-everything as you, I wouldn't have expected you to buy an HP. I HATE HATE HATE HP. They're a bunch of immoral bastards. But nice server nonetheless.
It's a pretty good server. I can get you a license for Windows Server 2008 R2 if you want, it's lighter than Windows XP. I hate HP too, for their unnecessarily complicated printers. Just try printing on an HP printer, and then try another one from Brother or Canon. HP feels like you get punched in the face, while Brother and Canon printers feel like a hot secretary giving you reports and possibly a French kiss.
I have to agree with you about the printers. I have on of those HP DeskJet printers and I can't even install the driver for no reason. It has its own will. Need to print your 2000 words essay quickly because you've got only 10 minutes to school? Tough luck. If the HP printer doesn't want to... you're fucked.
Xerox FTW Full colour laser copier/printer/scanner/fax, with full duplexing, collation, 40gb hard drive with public and private network access, and can print a copy of the OED in about 12 and a half minutes. 8) Yeah my printer is bigger than yours...
