A picture appeared on the internet. Then I did some research and found out that the URL doesn't exists, HOWEVER, google does not lie to us: After some research I found this thing by using google SSL search. If you enter Site:steampowered.com HL5 you won't find anything, however when searching for Site:steampowered.com HL3 you will find dead links, meaning that that specific link did exist. I also filtered it last updated 1 week (or less) ago to get a better result if you read this a month later it might be you need to filter it to "month" on the left bottom.
They did the same kind of guerrilla marketing for the Portal 2 launch. It's pretty awesome news. It could also be a mistake by an intern, like revealing that Steam has got all the programming necessary to support Linux. I want to get the "A Perfect Circle" achievement first though, that band is awesome 8)
Holy shit, either it's a very stupid and not-funny joke or Valve is fucking with us, getting me all wired for HL3.
2 things strike me as odd: the graphic at the top is some really old concept art which has been on the net for years, and the browser is apparently set to local intranet at the bottom, so how is it browsing an internet link?
Those two things made me doubt to although it is probable that the logo is one of the later things they make and that his is a temporary replacement (placeholder). The "local intranet" can show up if using a local proxy (I guess?). Still how can it happen that you can find the link on Google?
Ahh then there will be more mods and more downloads. And I have to buy the new half life... this hall be a challenge

I think Half-Life 3 will be released in winter 2012. There's going to be a huge announcement at the E3. And, they are working on the Source to get it up to the level of graphics that Battlefield 3 has. Who would've thought there would be dynamic lightning now: http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/524906954696939143/135B7A6FB976B4B7475DEC8E146C8A1AE739BCE0/
